The Actors Gymnasium Presents Hercules: Zero to Hero

Adapted and Directed by: Karina Patel

Hercules, a young demigod with super strength, is stolen from the grip of his parents and lives out his childhood among humans on Earth. In order to get his godhood back, he must complete several tasks to become a True Hero — all while his evil uncle Hades plots to take over the world, and a not-so-damsel in distress brings complications of her own.

Director’s Note

Welcome to our production of Hercules: Zero to Hero! This camp show follows the tale of Hercules, a young demigod who has to complete a variety of tasks in order to prove he’s a true hero — all while making friends and falling in love along the way! It has been an absolute blast working with this group of campers to stage the show, incorporating everything they’ve learned about circus, dance and drama over the past few weeks. We hope you enjoy the show!

Support our Mission

The children, teens, and adults who express themselves through physicality and humor every day at the Gym are brave. The vulnerability they show when learning new skills and perfecting their timing creates an environment that breeds lifelong friendships. At the Gym people learn to trust and be trusted. Together, our students experiment with the teamwork, discipline, and imagination they need to go out and change their worlds.

There are many worthy causes to support, but given that you’ve already shown an understanding of what the Gym means to kids in Evanston and north Chicagoland, we hope you’ll think of us. We want to keep inspiring and teaching students to be themselves, to be strong, to be balanced, and to fly. To do that, we need your support.
